Few Electrical Problems

So I've just brought my Gti and I have a few niggling problems with it.

- The clock display (behind the hazard switch) wasn't working at all, it was illuminated but only had a few lines here and there. So I took the working one out of my 1.4 glx, made sure the bulbs were all ok and popped it in.

Before I put the cover back on, I set the time date etc as I could see it with the sun behind it. I put the cover back on and the display looks just blank. I've tried it at night with the lights on and still nothing. Looking over previous topics it's been suggested about the fuse, but since the hazard switch works I'm assuming I can rule this out?

- The Auxillery power outlet (cigarette lighter) doesn't seem to be working, tried plugging the other halfs iPhone charger in but nothing. Fuse problem? I've had a quick look through this guide CLICK but cant see which one. Any ideas?

So yeah not major problems but a few niggling things. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers.

Is it that easy to break then. I mean it was working fine 10 mins before I put it into the new car?

cig lighter should be easy, its a fuse that is located in the middle of the fusbox, most probably blown,

Tried changing the fuse for the cig lighter, still not working. I'm assuming its the cig lighter itself.

I've looked at the display, it seems to be a dodgy wire somewhere on the connection. When its plugged in you can wiggle the wire and the bulbs light up so I'm assuming there's a loose connection there.

Any ideas? Is it alot of work to fit a different loom/connection?
