#1: Horn continually sounding Author: macca1411, Location: Westhoughton, LancashirePosted: Fri Jul 27, 2012 5:44 am ---- 2003 plexed 1.4 petrol. No alarm that I know off (no switch by handbrake, no ultrasonics and servicebox vehicle charactaristics says WITHOUT THEFT PROTECTION ALARM. Not seen any signs of an aftermarket system being fitted.
Just went and unlocked the car and the horn started sounding with a continuous tone. Locked the car thinking it might stop the horn but continued to sound. Tried unlocking and locking a number of times but didn't make any difference.
The only way the horn stopped was by pressing the horn switch on the steering wheel.
I'm leaning towards the fault being on the comm2000 as I've already had the headlights flashing randomly when I indicate. I'm taking a guess that when I unlocked the car, it woke the BSI and the comm fault kicked in.
Anyone else got any thoughts or experienced a similar problem.

Sounds like it could be the comms unit. Probably be best to try the scrap yards or on here for a replacement. Not sure how you would test the one in your car though
