#1: 138 and 180 Author: RMS-GTI, Location: Hemel HempsteadPosted: Sun Aug 12, 2012 6:43 am ---- My dad recently got made redundant, but then got another job straight after- so we agreed to buy a stop gap car for him until he gets his new company car with the view to then use it as a track car after as my 138 is too nice and standard to ruin as a track car.
Now this post comes with a slightly embarrassing confession- when I bought my 206 a month or so ago I didn't consider the 180 as I was lead to believe it wasn't worth the extra running costs over the 138 because it wasn't as good as something like a Civic Type R etc. so better to save the money, buy a nice and simple 138 and bomb about in it. However, having driven a 180 I can't wait to get back in it and drive it! I wouldn't say it is massively quicker but it is definitely more usable because of the VVT and the gearbox is a revelation compared to the poor shift in the 138.
Not many pictures for now as my Dad lives 2 hours from me so I can't get many but pictures from when we picked it up- and I will keep you updated on the progress of the track project!
And lastly, the guy we bought it off had an MTM Audi RS6 running 690hp. Titanium clutch parts, uprated Turbos, inter coolers etc etc. Amazing! He was going to use the 206 as a track car too, but the RS6 just came back to him with a bill of 7K for maintenance and more uprated parts from MTM. Ouch!,

We got it for a big chunk less than market value because it only has service receipts from the past 12 months. However it came with all the old MOTs so we knew the mileage was correct. It has a tiny paint touch up by the driver side fog light but apart from that it is mint! Drives absolutely spot on as well.
We drove it all the way back from Wales to London with no problems so hopefully it will stay like hat!
