#1: steering wheel vibrating Author: anton1989, Location: west midlands PostPosted: Tue Aug 21, 2012 2:54 pm
    ----
hit a massive pot hole today just before going on to the slip road to the motorway now the steering wheel is vibrating at speed and also going side to side when braking, somtimes when going over speed bumps there is a little knocking from the front but not always

wisbones changed few weeks back along with track road ends (lemforder)

could the pot hole knocked my tracking off? could my wheels need re balancing after hitting it? or something else?

thanks

Just get the wheel that hit the pot hole on the wheel balancing machine, you will soon see if the rim is damaged when its spun up Wink

Your getting the tracking checked so while your there get the wheel checked / balanced as well.

Check the wheel balance, as well as obviously anything broken

Vortex wheels are a pain in the bum to get balanced as the tyre places cannot be arsed to change the setting on the machine(all tyre fitting places can do it) for love or money they fob you off!

There's a place in rugby that does mine if you like to know who. It's a place on albert st off railway terrace
