#1: Front n/s clunk, knock Author: rick-gti, Location: welshpool, mid walesPosted: Wed Aug 22, 2012 2:59 am ---- Rite i have had a clunk, knock coming from the front n/s wheel. there's no movement in the ball joint or steering. Am i rite to say it could be the strut top bush? When the cars jacked up there is abit of movement in the spring. I dont want to start buying parts to find its not them that need replacing. Need to get the car spot on ready to sell.

somtimes the spring will jump round while turning if someone can have a look while you turn left to right etc.
failing that could be drive shaft.

Im now thinking the driveshaft could be the issue. Im thinking of getting some lowering springs so will be removing the shocks so can have a good check over the top mounts.
