Air Flow Sensor
-> 206 Problems

#1: Air Flow Sensor Author: Lewis, Location: Isle Of Wight PostPosted: Fri Aug 31, 2012 10:26 am

Hi guys, having problems with idle on my 180 when i start it up, the car seems to rev lower than it should for a cold car, it then hunts but doesn't ever stall. This is only for 10 seconds then once driving it is like nothings wrong. I have tried cleaning plugs and cleaning VVT etc.

I have been told a few things but one of them that i have been told recently but not tried yet is to reset the air flow meter sensor, is this possible?

Thanks Lewis

Have you checked to make sure the secondary air pump (part of the de-pollution system) isn't blocked? Its in the passenger wheel arch and connects to the standard air path. (On start up this unit makes the car rev harder for a few seconds to warm the cat up quicker and make the engine more 'M.O.T friendly').

If it is the air mass meter, get it on a fault reader to see what has been stored as just 're-setting' it may just bring the fault back.

No MAF on any petrol 206. MAP sensor is used to measure air flow.

Has it got a fly by wire throttle body on those?
