When I start the engine there is fumes coming out of the water tank and cannot screw the cap on fully for long w/o enormous pressure build up.
Do the fumes coming out this way signify a blown head gasket?
Also took very long time to start the engine but gradually got there after using accelerator too..

It is hard to start as water is leaking into cylinder/s whilst it is parked.
Cap won't go on because the combustion is leaking into water jacket.
Block test kit will also confirm this.
Do not try quick fix treatments, they will not work.
It's possible the liner is cracked (but not likely) but head will have to come off.
Or replace the engine.
