A garage bypassing an emissions test is one thing, a garage that will pass a car with safety issues is another.
Thats correct vosa can access any mot station at any random time, gone of the days of the "bloke down the pub" mot
I've seen VOSA walk in to a garage & retest a car just after the garage mot tested it, they do go through them with a fine tooth comb.
Sooner or later dodgy mot places / testers get caught & dealt with as VOSA do random checks on mot places / testers
I knew a mot tester fail his own car on a old fiesta mk4 as the hazzard warning button was loose and kept falling off, i dont agree with how tight some of them are but rules are rules
