#1: Rev Limiter - testing out the car on track days etc Author: lee1985, Location: North WestPosted: Mon Sep 03, 2012 11:44 am ---- Does the GTI 180 have a rev limiter?
Whilst testing out the car I have been red-lining it quite a few times and occasionally gone just over 7k revs where it appears to slow down very quickly and briefly, I am wondering if this is the rev limiter kicking in.
Is there any damage to be done by continuously red-lining (well, shifting bang on 7k revs, where the red line starts)?
When racing to 60mph I change gear bang on the 7k rev mark, well maybe a fraction before - is this the correct way to get the maximum out of the car?

never be that easy, it took me over an hour to plot a graph to show me the best rev to shift up
