Only had one key for my car and lost it on the weekend

Anyone know the process and cost?

Will be ringing pug tomorrow as I guess that's the only place I can get a replacement ?

Depends on which type of the many keys it is.

Peugeot main dealer will want to see your photo id & proof of ownership for the car before they even order / sell you a key.

ALL the keys will need coding with Peugeot Planet & you need the 4 digit security code before keys can be coded to the car.

The code you need is on the blue plastic security code card behind the silver scratch panel ( Peugeot can tell you the code for a small fee which if your ordering a new key they might not bother with but again photo id & proof of ownership before they will release the code )

Get the key / keys cut so you can load the car up & have it recovered to the Peugeot main dealer for them to be coded in.

One of the first things I did was get a 3rd key for my 206.

It came with the 2 original remote fobs so I got a 3rd standard transponder key to keep in my wallet as a emergency spare.

Standard non remote key can still disarm the alarm system.

Just looked on Peugeot Service Box & you may struggle getting a remote key from Peugeot as there is NO FURTHER PRODUCTION Laughing

Part number 6552 ZW normal locking one button remote key £85.75
Part number 6552 ZX remote deadlocking 2 button remote key £94.31

Replacement part number for both is 9170 N7 Standard NON remote key £25.66

i can get keys precut to chassis number. All you'd have to do is get somebody to program it/them to the car with the 4 digit pin which i can also get you

Although if the car has had locks changed at some point then keys cut to chassis won't work.

As somebody else has already said Peugeot have discontinued the type of remote you need. They've done the same with some 306/406 remotes which is a pain in the backside for me when i get customers calling for new keys

If anyone needs keys programmed with the 4-digit code, or codes read from car - or blanks, I can highly recommend Enigma of Ashford 01233 623236. They are far cheaper than the main stealer and really know what they are doing...

Just say Matt from Sinful Design sent you and I said you would get a discount Smile

price depends on what type of key it is. A basic transponder key costs less than a 2 button remote key. Also if you have an existing key I don't need to get it precut as i have key cutting equipment in my van & would use your original key as a guide.

As for programming. I usually charge £30 within a 10 mile radius of my. Any further & I charge to cover extra fuel & driving time.

If you're wanting a full quote the best thing to do is send me a PM with your postcode, model & year of car & what type of key you want Very Happy

I'm actually in the same situation as you, only had one key when I picked up the Gti last week.
Currently waiting for a price from a friend working at a pug dealer and also looking around for the best price.
If I find out anything useful soon, I'll let you know.

i take it that's for a remote! none of my key suppliers actually list a remote for a year 2000 206 anymore, they're listed as discontinued.

I can get you a genuine basic none remote key precut to the key code from your chassis number for about £30 inc P&P to you. Then all you need to do is find somebody near by to program it.

If you weren't bothered about it being a genuine Peugeot case & were happy for it to say Silca or another aftermarket key name on the case then you can easily knock £10 off of the price

providing all the part numbers for the ECU & BSI match yours then yes you could go for something like that

You can get the blade cut at any locksmiths although cutting to the key code is the better way. It's the immobiliser that causes the problem. You need a virgin chip which then needs pairing with the car using dealer software. Some auto locksmiths can offer this service but price varies. My local place charge £35 just for the pairing then you need to buy the chip on top.

A couple of members used to be able to get key codes cheaper than the dealers, but they have moved on.

I can do a none remote key with cloned transponder via post for £30 if you wanted to go down that route. Obviously i'd need you to send me your key

no probs, bare in mind this won't have a Peugeot logo on it. It will be either Silca or JMA.

I can get genuine Peugeot none remote keys but they cost more & also aren't made to fit a clone chip inside. Usually the inside of the key case can be altered to make a clone transponder fit though. It's be ab extra £15 for a genuine Peugeot none remote key
