Steering Wheel/Horn
-> 206 Problems

#1: Steering Wheel/Horn Author: GTSX, Location: Department 79 PostPosted: Sun Sep 09, 2012 12:39 pm

I have a problem with the horn not working on my SXi. I did some research on here and tests on the car. It seems the problem is in the steering wheel multiplexed unit.
I tried to take the multiplexed unit off but it doesn't seem to release fully by pushing on the tab. To make things worse I can't get the unit tiireseat properly now either.

Can anyone offer some usefull advice on removing and refitting the multiplexed unit?

Ok air bag unit now off. It's not quite the same mechanism as on a Renault for removing it which threw me a bit.

The good news is the horn relay is now clicking but still no horn.

Bad news:

No power at fuses 9, 10, 11 and 12 in the fuse box. Is one of these for the horn (no hand book with the car)?

Can someone send me a photo of where the horn connector block mounts on the airbag unit as it was just laying there when I removed it a it's preventing me from refitting the airbag unit correctly now.

Also can someone tell me which wires from the fuse box go down to the horn?

Well a big thanks for your help!

138 views and no one can even tell me what fuse 9, 10, 11 and 12 are for!

Can't help with the problem but with RE: to fuses...

The beginner's guide to a 206 has the fuse listings in.
206info.co.uk/Forums/v...20541.html

Inside there is a link to:
Pre-plexed fuse list:
www.206info.co.uk/Foru...t=107.html

Multiplexed fuse list:
www.206info.co.uk/Foru...t=108.html

Hope that (slightly) helps. Smile
