#1: paintwork touch up [refinishing] Author: PUGPAUL, Location: hornseaPosted: Mon Sep 17, 2012 10:40 am ---- I have applied a layer of touch up paint from halfords [correct code] and it is a lot darker; anyway - never mind that.
How do I get it smooth and shiny without taking off the surrounding paint?
many thanks in advance!

#8: Re: paintwork touch up [refinishing] Author: BioCustoms, Location: LeedsPosted: Mon Sep 17, 2012 3:39 pm ---- each to their own beliefs but any professionally trained refinisher like myself knows and will back me up when I say that cans don’t work long term .... I’ve managed to get small jobs look good for about a 2 -5 days then the paint just sinks and turns satin to matt.
#9: Re: paintwork touch up [refinishing] Author: 2Oh!6, Location: GloucesterPosted: Mon Sep 17, 2012 4:19 pm ---- That must have been a pretty crap job to turn a finish into matt in 5 days, just saying. Have never had a paint job sprayed with cans for satin finish though.
My Dad has rattle canned me spoilers, wings etc no problem to this day.

i'm a professional and have been for over 10 years and i'm not going to back you up, decent results can be had from cans and last alot longer than 2-5 days, you must be using poundland cans
