Hiya Very Happy
Got pug 206 sw 1.4 hdi and just had the turbo replaced, only done 43000 Shocked
Now it's been starting and cutting out. Air bubbles in fuel line next to primer. Been managing to get it to run (it goes fine once its going) but today it has given up the ghost. Stop light is now flashing too (cant recall if it does this before starting) Battery is almost dead through trying. How much am I looking at paying for diagnostics? i read a thread on here about a pipe wearing through under the air filter so am going to ask green flag to check that for me :o)) Any other ideas?

Would put good money on it being the pipes under the airbox, getting more of these at work. I think the pipes are about £60 from Peugeot

Thanks Rich, am hoping its this rather than fuel pump or injectors or something :oS
Will let you know if you were right as soon as I find out :o)

Have you pumped the hand primer untill it goes hard and tried starting it? That should force enough air put for it too start.

Been doing that all week (hoping to get to my first day off so it can go to garage) Unfortunately it wouldn't play ball this morning. Went out after and hour and it has started, so its now in the garage. Fault codes p1113 and 00087........:oS

Both codes relate to fuel pressure being low due to air being in the system and cranking I would say so nothing to worry about.

I hate the waiting around for the garage to ring. Its a bit of a trust issue sometimes as well as most garages assume us ladies know nothing. Ah well, valium anyone? :oD

All the pipes are apparently ok, garage think fuel filter maybe at fault (its never been changed to my knowledge so he could have a point) He's fitting new fuel filter and then its panic stations as other options may be a tad more expensive :oS

Had air filter and fuel filter changed (£80) and fingers crossed it seems to be ok now. Would the fuel filter have caused? Was thinking maybe if seals were gone on it, it might have allowed air to be sucked in?

I would put money on air in the lines, but you might have a problem tracing where its coming from. You'll just have to trace the fuel lines.

i had the same problem with mine, i replaced mine with rubber lines, but kept the attachments on the ends. primed it till no air was going through and it started fine, mines done 170,000 and i knew the previous owner, the fuel filter hasnt been changed since 100,000. so they last quite a while

Have jsut had the air filter housing off and checked the pipes myself There is indeed a hole in one of them. I have taped it as a temporary fix and will get them replaced asap. Hopefully this is the ONLY thing letting air in and I will be back to my reliable beastie :o)

What is really annoying about this is I TOLD my mechanic to check this FIRST. He claims he did. Guess I wont be using him any more :oS

Hi shellysexbomb,

I've had the same problem but fixed it today, it was the input pipe to the filter.

The air box had been rubbing and chaffing it over 75000 miles, it created an absolutely minute hole.

I replaced the pipe and rerouted it, problem solved.

Common problem, 207 1.4 HDI suffers from this as well Laughing

£100??????????????? What a rip off.

It cost me £1 for some clear braided PVC tube and about 30mins to do.

Now I've done it once I could fix the next one in 10mins, I also re-route the pipe to prevent it happening again.

Sadly not I'm afraid, I'm in sunny Suffolk.

Would a picture be any use to you?

All you need to do the job is a sharp knife and 1/2 meter of 8mm Braided tube.

I'll get one today and post it up then.

I have noticed the even the most minuscule amount of air will cause an engine shut down or failure to start.

When corrected it really is a pleasure to drive with confidence and a bit of welly now and again.
