#6: Re: Car wont start Author: southwestchap, Location: DevonPosted: Tue Sep 25, 2012 6:03 am ---- unlucky, i have to get the bus most days so I know how you feel.
pretty sure that the fuel rail is on the back of the engine, though it won't be hard to see if there's petrol everywhere...

its raining here and the weathers s**te. its not got puddle of rainbow juice sitting bout it so if it is leaking its not leaking really badly.
#8: Re: Car wont start Author: Domo, Location: EdinburghPosted: Tue Sep 25, 2012 7:11 am ---- Petrol smell is only there when the car is tryin to fire up
#9: Re: Car wont start Author: Steve180, Location: CoventryPosted: Tue Sep 25, 2012 8:10 am ---- It might smell of fuel because the pump is dumping a bit into the cylinder but as its not being burnt as normal, its just sitting there, may even flood the engine eventually if there's not spark. Try plug change first, then look at coil pack and battery (may be that the charge is enough for radio but not enough for first fire).
If none of that works, get a diag done to see if there is a major underlying fault.

Problem fixed, turned out to be a wiring bundle under the air filter box, that was encased in plastic tubing was filled with rain water and had corroded one of the wire until it had broken
