#1: New Problem Author: MattyP, Location: PlymouthPosted: Wed Sep 26, 2012 11:34 am ---- Well boy's and girl's the story goes on with my 206 with problem after problem.
Driving to work monday morning and noticed car felt unresponsive when accelerating and when stationary the revs would increase to 1250rpm and drop back down.
After work, started the car and idle constantly increased to to 1250rpm and dropped back down for about 5 minutes then would stay at the idle speed it has been for the last few weeks, but as soon as you touched the gas and let it off the idle speed would still increase for about 3 seconds and trying to drive in the correct gears was hard, even when in 2nd and trying to do 30mph the car was very hesitant, it was like this in every gear.
Took the car to the garage and they said it sounded like it was misfiring, took the car home and left it there til tonight when, after work went to see if it was still the same, only to find the car wouldn't start.
Turned the key so all lights were all on and fuel pump kicked in, it sounds like it is trying to start but there's just no spark. When I tried it again, before turning the key fully I noticed the engine coolant needle moved from cold to red then back, it did this 4 times while only the ignition lights were on, also noticed the revs needle move 3 indicaton marks but only did that the once.
The crank sensor and icv have been replaced along with the throttle position sensor, the ecu has also been changed back in june when the major problems started.
Sorry for the long read but if anyone knows what it could be I would appreciate it as I am trying to sell it very soon

on a side note i had sort of the same problems with my 1.1 and it was the injector
#3: Re: New Problem Author: MattyP, Location: PlymouthPosted: Wed Sep 26, 2012 1:40 pm ---- yeah it does mate, if i chose to do that i'd have to sell it as a whole as I don't have time or space to remove all the decent parts plus the shell is in good condition, it's only the engine i've got issues with
#4: Re: New Problem Author: anton1989, Location: west midlandsPosted: Wed Sep 26, 2012 1:49 pm ---- true, put it up for sale on here with the problems listed, see what intrest you get? if i never just bout carlos car to break i would be tempted to buy it an put another engine in it but aint got the space!
with the price of the 180 going down alot your be lucky to get a good price even if it was fixed!
its a shame really, its a nice looking car
#5: Re: New Problem Author: MattyP, Location: PlymouthPosted: Wed Sep 26, 2012 1:56 pm ---- I know mate, it sucks big time! Was going to be putting it on pistonheads and ebay for £1500, don't think that will happen now lol
#6: Re: New Problem Author: Seabook, Posted: Wed Sep 26, 2012 1:58 pm ---- better to break it for parts

this is what i said but he aint got the time.
from what i can see you'd get around
front bumper 50
rear bumper 50
sp grills 70
wings 60
spoiler 40
boot strip 15
angel lights 60
rear lights 50
alloys 250
sp arches 50
180 seats 225
exhaust 180 (if its janspeed)
then what ever the doors, boot and bonnet are worth then scrap the shell, think its £80 for a 206 shell
thats £1180 maybe more if i have missed bits or priced wrong
#8: Re: New Problem Author: MattyP, Location: PlymouthPosted: Wed Sep 26, 2012 2:50 pm ---- thanks for the above mate, the headlights are now crystals with the insides sprayed not black but bmw metallic grey, same as the fogs.
Yeah exhaust is Janspeed, also has a k&n typhoon kit and i reckon I could get at least £50 for the dash display cover which is trimmed in alcantara
