what's the best way to clean the cylinder head and inlet?

i was thinking to get a big bucket, fill up with water and washing powder and soak it overnight. would that work?

i believe the head and inlet is both aluminium so it shouldn't rust.

Soak it in diesel overnight, then dish-washer.
