It is the relay clicking. It's normal.

Its the relay switching to allow power to travel to the motor and is normal

I'm sure it only does this for the rear wiper?

Karimali831 - The multiplexed ones dont make a noise on the front wipers, but the non multiplexed early models make a noise.

Does your key have a large chrome lion on it with pad locks on the buttons or do you have a pear shaped key with plastic black buttons?

Doesnt really matter as they both make the relay click noise when the rear wiper is being used.

If your car was built before 1st October 2001, it's pre-plexed.

The picture of the key you posted confirms it's pre-plex.

How to identify if your car is pre-plex or plexed is explained in the beginners guide which used to have a link to it from the welcome message you got in your private messages inbox when you first signed up. Don't know if this still happens.

Yep as Macca said it's Pre-plexed or Non multiplexed.
