#1: Brake line spanner size Author: shaun88, Posted: Thu Oct 11, 2012 3:28 pm ---- Ok, so this is annoying, i bought a set of brake spanners as im removing some of my brake pipes. Problem is 10mm is to small 11mm is to big, what other options are there?? someone said a 7/16 but im a bit out of touch with sizes does this sound like it would do the job its literally like i need a 10.5mm spanner???

Edit: If your replacing the parts anyway just use vice-grips

might be better grind it off

And take care as if you turn the whole pipe it will bend or worse, snap off

I did it once and i think you need size 10 FLARE NUT WRENCH. When you undo the bolt, try to a bit of gentle tapping on the wrench when undoing the nut.
Some thing like the item below which have more contact point compare to normal wrench:
