Indicators ticking fast but not lighting up

#1: Indicators ticking fast but not lighting up Author: lmay, Location: Sydney PostPosted: Fri Oct 12, 2012 11:38 pm

I have a 2001 Peugeot 206 GTi. Whenever I indicate to go left or right i can hear the ticking of the indicator going really fast but the lights in the dashboard nor the outside of the car are lighting up?

The same goes for the hazards. No lights when pressed but ticking sound heard. Also, when I unlock/lock the car it doesn't proceed to flash lights as it usual would.

I checked the fuses and the bulbs are all working fine.
A guess could be the indicator relay unit is at fault?

Any suggestions on how I can fix this problem please? Sad

Indicators tick fast when there is a bulb blown.
Check again and fuse might be blown, even if it visualy looks OK.

I took it to an auto electrician who fixed it but when i asked what was wrong with it he simply replied "if i told you, you'd fix it yourself"

judging from that answer it seemed quite simple but we'll never know happened.
