#1: Drive shaft Lenghts ???? Author: chuckstar34, Location: London/Worcester/ GrimsbyPosted: Fri Oct 19, 2012 8:26 am ---- Heres a goody!
2000 D-turbo, Needed a new outer CV boot so went for a low milage drive shaft from ebay off the same model and year. Easy enough swap but the new shaft isnt quite long enough?? OK, ebay purchase been had. So went to local motor factors and gave them Reg and Vin. Took ebay one out, put motor factors one in....nope still short. They say thats the one from the vin number using the Peugeot Parts link they use. Maybe its miss badged, so sent a second out to me, Nope still wrong. Spoke to Pug, they gave same part number for my car as motorfacotrs had. Hmmm So the we measured the drive shafts drive stubbs and found im a few mm out from old unit to the new ones?? Ok, so the guys called main depot and they found one with the same measurements as mine. But this unit isnt ment for my car if the Vin numbers are used. Its for other models and it was an old stock item that doesnt come up on the pug system anymore???? Odd????
I know this car from new as I bought it from the previous owners who ordered it from pug. Its had two bumps in its life both only panel damage so no heavy front end that needed new bits.
Would any one know whats occuring with mine??? Have I got an odd build or something or an early one of this model that used say an older models gearbox in early builds ?

Author: chuckstar34, Location: London/Worcester/ GrimsbyPosted: Fri Oct 19, 2012 8:41 am ---- Update...Motorfactors say they have found that on previous updates of their parts listing software they have had two options for my car in ref to n/s drive shafts. One of them fits D-turbos and Gti's and thats the one they initially supplid, but the second option isnt on the new lists but was the one I needed. It doesnt relate to any other model in its part number but it was the one for mine. Odd!

#5: Re: Drive shaft Lenghts ???? Author: chuckstar34, Location: London/Worcester/ GrimsbyPosted: Fri Oct 19, 2012 9:48 am ---- I wouldnt mind so much if we knew from the start that there's two options for my car, we would have been asked if its X or XX and we would have checked and got it faster. But we stumbled across the right one only because some one at the Depot said" Hang on, weve got some odd ones out back" and got it sorted. I would have had same probably if it went to pug direct...all thoey might have sussed it in the end.
Its all abit painfull really.
Thats the end of my moan. I just hope cambelt kits are easier.....oh god I hope so.

My driveshaft's wobbly (probably was hit once, but ex owner sold it with new brake pads+disks on so I did not feel the vibe for couple of weeks ), here's the short story long: www.206info.co.uk/Foru...47088.html
The second one has some weird grill on the bare shaft's metal in the middle. How does your look like, and what is the difference in your measurements, in length is that then? If so, please tell me the size, I'll check with my one before ordering.
Thanks for your moan, it doesn't go not benefited from
