-> 206 Problems

#1: Power steering Author: Baz.rsv PostPosted: Sat Oct 20, 2012 10:08 am

Hi folks,
Sorry one of my first posts is requesting help Embarassed
Recently picked up a 2000 206gti for using over the winter instead of the bike.
Trouble is,the power steering pipes have rusted through an I can't get any as they are no longer made.

Can anyone tell me if ones off any other models fit?
Or is anyone breaking one and have a set to of pipes to sell?

Thanks
Baz

Did the Peugeot dealer say they can't get them?
Are these the pipes near the steering rack? Pirtek might be able to make something...they can certainly do the hoses so might be able to fabricate the metal pipes too.

Thanks mate,I've been told from them that the parts have been discontinued Sad
I've been thinking about pirtek as I work not far from one of their places.
It was the fittings on the end of the pipe work that looks like it may cause problems.

So is it where the pipes fit into the rack? Reason I ask is I've got a freshly removed PAS pipe that sits behind the front bumper ...but I don't think it's that bit you need.

It's at the rack it's leaking but when I got them taken off they run all the way to the pump up front.
Never realised they were in sections.

Thats the power steering pressure switch for the engine ecu.

Its best if the old pipework is removed so Pirtek can use it as a pattern.
