#1: Arch liner mud traps Author: iancav6, Location: rugbyPosted: Sun Oct 21, 2012 3:44 am ---- I was cleaning my GTI yesterday after having to drive down some country lanes because of a diversion on my normal commute.I ran my hand inside the rear arches and found the liners were doing a fantastic job of holding wet mud behind them,an ideal rust trap.I removed them to let a great big pile of dirt fall out.
Moved on to the Mrs GTI(yes we have one each) and I found hers was even worse,there was a good heaped dustpan full of mud behind each side and especially trapped behing the fuel filler pipes.
Will be sticking the hose in there everytime I was them now to stop it building up.
Are there any other mud traps like this on the 206?
