#1: replacing front wheel hub Author: Sim, Location: West CountryPosted: Thu Oct 25, 2012 4:40 am ---- Hello,
Considering the wheel wobble ( www.youtube.com/watch?v=8yiQ0U50WdU ), I have second guess: CV joint should eliminate all wobble originating between itself and transmission. (before you ask: the wheel has no play whilst moving it by hands, and wheel itself is fine, as I swapped them and when wheel off, can see brand new brake disk touching pads as it spins - you can hear brakes squeek intermittently when hot and at low speeds)
So you might be right: wheel's hub flange is uneven/warped/hit/races borked,
Please tell me how hard it is to replace a hub (the whole or the flange only):
#2: Re: replacing front wheel hub Author: Seabook, Posted: Thu Oct 25, 2012 9:15 am ---- because most breaker can't be bother to remove the hubs from the front pivot (and most likely when you pull out the hubs the bearing will be destroyed)
#3: Re: replacing front wheel hub Author: Sim, Location: West CountryPosted: Thu Oct 25, 2012 10:16 am ---- Thanks Seabook;
I'll try swapping the front hubs together, see if wobble gets swapped as well.
Any pointers to look out for while dismantling? (e.g. I haven't got a torque wrench)
Cheers,

and you need a press to fit new bearing and remove the old bearing
#5: Re: replacing front wheel hub Author: Sim, Location: West CountryPosted: Thu Oct 25, 2012 11:16 am ---- wont it come off by hand?
at this stage i will not remove bearings, but thanks for future
#6: Re: replacing front wheel hub Author: Seabook, Posted: Thu Oct 25, 2012 11:36 am ---- not a chances, unless you can pull out 10 tonnes of power
#7: Re: replacing front wheel hub Author: Sim, Location: West CountryPosted: Thu Oct 25, 2012 11:56 am ---- Doesnt drive shaft just slide into the hub the same way it slides into the tranny?
#8: Re: replacing front wheel hub Author: Seabook, Posted: Thu Oct 25, 2012 1:28 pm ---- yes it is.
but the hubs are press onto the pivot.
