Can someone with mor experience please advise me where is the best place to get the following for my 2005 1.4 16v sport 206:
. New brake discs and pads for the front ( what upgrade options are there?)
. Red brake calipers. I know I could paint them but would rather buy red ones
. Conversion for rear drums to disc brakes (is this worth it, or should I paint the drums?)
Thanks

Just go to Euro Car Parts. Most of the time they are doing 30% discounts. Just paint the drums black. You dont want to highlight them by painting them red!

#5: Re: Brake advice please Author: DeeTurbo, Location: BedfordshirePosted: Thu Oct 25, 2012 2:58 pm ---- I just used black hammerite on the drums of my girlfriends and I used red hammerite on my calipers but proper caliper paint is only £7.49 from Eurocarparts
Get all the rust and crud off before painting to get a good result.
If you want discs on the back you will have to change the whole rear axle and you'll have to make sure you get the one with the right type of ABS sensors.
Think I will paint drums black. Calipers red. Then just need to replace discs and pads as they have about had it.
What should I get std or better?

My engine used to be the same as yours and I have the same set up. Drums at rear (painted black). And red calipers. If your replacing the pads anyway you might as well paint the calipers whilst your there

DEP I will probably pant the calipers while changing brakes ETC.
I take it brake cleaner and a wire brush is ok for cleaning the drums and calipers? Then do i need a primer? or can I just paint with Hammerite?

#11: Re: Brake advice please Author: Tolkienfan001, Location: SpaldingPosted: Fri Oct 26, 2012 3:30 am ---- Thanks better go do some shopping and get scrubbing and painting

Best measurement blueprints to choose from are www.brakesint.co.uk (make sure you have Adobe Flash on your computer to shop around) and they do next-day delivery as well. Used their services, and ended up having nice brembo disks shipped with Mintex pads, can't complain (note you might get other manuf.)!
