#1: CENTRAL LOCKING LOCKS AND UNLOCKS ITSELF Author: LORDPSK, Location: CAERNARFON PostPosted: Wed Oct 31, 2012 5:41 am

Hi,

Sorry if this has been covered before, I have tried to do a search on the problem. I have a 1999 206 GLX 4 door 1.4, it has a two button remote key.

When the button is pressed to lock the car all doors lock and immediately unlock. I have sat in car and pushed lock down and same happens.

I have tried resetting the buttons as described and also re sync with the bsi all to no avail.

Is there one of the locks which is the master and controls all the others that could be faulty or could somebody suggest a answer.

All suggestions gratefully received.

Steve

Try to identify the side which is malfunction. Spray some wd-40 into the lock first, it might solve your problem if your lucky. If still not working you will need to replace the door lock solenoid.

Checked all the doors are fully closed? I've had the same when a rear door wasn't shut properly.

All doors are closed, no interior light on, sprayed all doors locks with wd40, interior light comes when drivers door is opened but not when passenger front door is opened, so considering that the door light switch is part of the door lock would I be right in thinking I should try that lock.

Locks are dead-cheap on eBay.

You really mean they hadnt got a clue how to diagnose the fault correctly so they just replaced all the lock motors at your expense Wink

Right, had a relook at locks with windows down and doors closed to carry out tests, each door on its own.

1. Push drivers door button down locks all doors and then unlocks immediately,

2. Front passenger door, button down, stays down, does not activate any other door locks. Same thing happens using key in passenger door lock.

3. Rear doors, push button down, stays down, does not activate any other door locks.

4. Remote fob (two button type) , same result as drivers door.

Conclusion or further tests to be done, open to suggestions please,

Steve
