#1: Engine "hunting" Author: bart84, Location: lancashirePosted: Mon Nov 12, 2012 4:33 pm ---- Hi all. Has anyone else had an issue with "hunting"?
I've had my 138 GTI for 5 years and has had this fault for a while now.
Has been serviced regularly with genuine parts inc spark plugs so I'm hoping it'll be a cheap fix.
Am I right in saying it could be an air leak?
The rev counter needle isn't erratic, drives fine, and fuel consumption seems ok. Never had a warning light on just wondering where to start.
Cheers

I'll try an ICV/TB combo and see what happens.
Cheers guys

The throttle butterfly is always 100% closed at idle. There is an extra path for the air to take via the idle control valve at idle speeds.
