#1: Help ID a problem?? Author: danhodson, Location: Derby, UK PostPosted: Sun Nov 18, 2012 1:05 pm
    ----
Evening guys, not posted here for a while, but thought I would consult you as I'm having an issue with my car.

The issue is to do with acceleration.

When building speed while pressing harder on the accelerator the power seems to drop out, i'll try and explain more:

Imagine this is the engine revs OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

The car will do this: OOOOOOOOoOOOOOOoooOOOOO, the smaller ooo is almost like a hiccup, now it normally happens in 5th gear, but sometimes does it in 3rd. There is no real pattern to it, but I have noticed it happening more, not sure if it's linked to the colder weather?

The car idle's steady, so I dont think its the idle stepper motor, could my CAT be on the way out, an thats what causes the brief loss of power?

Please help guys, as I can't afford to replace the car.

Hmm, ok will have a look into it, could it be a spark plug issue, i.e a misfire?

Hmm, can I run a paperclip test like on the old corsa's or do I need to hook it up to a diag machine?
