Steering, brakes, suspension and transmission (gear change) all feel good and positive as posted about earlier.
The power's nothing to brag about though!
I thought GT meant Grand Tourismo but the seats are way from comfortable. I've just done a bit over 400 miles in it (only stopped for a short break) and ache like hell!
#47: Re: GTi 180 V's GTi Author: Dan-, Location: BiggleswadePosted: Sun Nov 25, 2012 3:13 pm ---- good choice really the seats are lovely! i managed 400 miles in mine with no stop so comfy
#48: Re: GTi 180 V's GTi Author: Dan-, Location: BiggleswadePosted: Sun Nov 25, 2012 3:14 pm ---- get some pics up
#49: Re: GTi 180 V's GTi Author: broadblaster, Location: south coastPosted: Sun Nov 25, 2012 3:27 pm ---- the power well it depends on what you are compaireing it to really ???
from a scoob like dans then no it will feel flat but against a 1.1 it will feel fast.
you do need to rev the nuts off them to get them shifting
#50: Re: GTi 180 V's GTi Author: SinfulDesignCom, Location: Ashford, KentPosted: Sun Nov 25, 2012 3:28 pm ---- Modded my last GTi a LOT, granted I had fun doing it, but wish I had bought a 180 first off. Got a 180 now, and it is so much better. But then, you give a car over to the boys at Lotus and you are going to get some improvements.
The original engine Lotus came up with was over 200bhp, but needed an oil cooler and Peugeot weren't prepared to add this as the purchase price was capped...
#51: Re: GTi 180 V's GTi Author: Dan-, Location: BiggleswadePosted: Sun Nov 25, 2012 3:32 pm ---- i went up from a gti to a 180 and noticed the extra power, mainly the midrange that was improved, imagine that to be the vvt!

Like aston helped design the RCZ?
Till i see it on paper or respectable website, i highly doubt that bud
#54: Re: GTi 180 V's GTi Author: broadblaster, Location: south coastPosted: Sun Nov 25, 2012 3:36 pm ---- tbh i have never driven the 138 gti but i find the 180's plenty quick enough if driven with vigour.
#55: Re: GTi 180 V's GTi Author: Dan-, Location: BiggleswadePosted: Sun Nov 25, 2012 3:50 pm ---- the 180 love the red line i havnt hit the rev limiter in the scoob yet, i was bouncing of it in the 180 every night, pop pop pop i miss the sound
#56: Re: GTi 180 V's GTi Author: broadblaster, Location: south coastPosted: Sun Nov 25, 2012 3:54 pm ---- yep they love to rev lol lol on your scoob there is just no need to get anywhere near the red line.
#57: Re: GTi 180 V's GTi Author: Dan-, Location: BiggleswadePosted: Sun Nov 25, 2012 3:58 pm ---- true, until i fit a bigger turbo the vf35 drops of boost at about 6.5k still have 1k revs unused!
#58: Re: GTi 180 V's GTi Author: JamieM, Posted: Sun Nov 25, 2012 5:29 pm ---- I heard that rumour about Lotus influence from a guy who used to work for Peugeot before I even heard it off anyone from on here and as the guy in question was a good friend and he had inside info I kind of believe it. Then again it could be insider bulls**t info...
Never ever hit the limiter in my 180, if on a run I will go close to the redline though. On overrun it pops.
Does bouncing off the limiter make any difference *not that I'm about to do it* pops enough on it's own.
#59: Re: GTi 180 V's GTi Author: Dan-, Location: BiggleswadePosted: Sun Nov 25, 2012 5:47 pm ---- not really i just liked the sound, doesnt really pin point out the bang it makes in the vid

I am not saying it's a "Lotus engine" here!!! They just took it and made some tweaks to the car. It's not b/s at all. Lotus are, after all, just a bunch of guys in Norfolk... not quite Aston Martin...
