A/C only blows cold air
-> 206 Problems

#1: A/C only blows cold air Author: Ciucur, Location: Northampton PostPosted: Sat Nov 24, 2012 9:45 am
    ----
I searched the forum and google for a solution to my problem but found none so here it is.
Last night after listening to music for quite some time (engine off) I started up the car, it barely started after making that distinct sound as if the battery was flat. I need to change the battery pretty soon, but that's not the problem.
The A/C was on 28 degrees but it started blowing only COLD air. It did this a while back, but it came to its senses in like 2 days without me doing anything to it.

So far I tried:

Opening the coolant cap and letting the engine run for 5-10 mins while reving it
I tried bleeding the coolant system by unscrewing the little brass screw on the thermostat housing

It's a 1.4 if that makes any difference.

I need help ASAP please! Embarassed

Thanks, Chris.

A/C is air conditioning? It's supposed to be cold. Turn a/c off and then you'll have hot air coming through.

AC works for all temperature's, it doesn't just make the air colder Wink

OK, I'll rephrase it...
Heating doesn't work, I tried turning it off, on, I changed the temp to cold back to hot, I changed to "eco" back to A/C...nothing works.

If the blower were to be broken wouldn't it stop blowing any air? It still works but only with cold air.

Nope, I can't say that I do.

It was a simple electrical fault behind the A/C display. It's now fixed. Smile
