I getting a rattle coming from the rear of the car when taking left hand corners. I've been under the back end and found the top suspension fixing seems to move about slightly but bolts are all secure. I'm not very car savvy and was wondering if anyone could shed any light on the problem and what steps i need to fix it. thanks in advance

you able to take a pic and cirlce whats lose?

I'm struggling to get a picture as its so low and can't get under properly

so its the part ive circled if so i had probably with mine coming lose i had to keep retightening it, only had to lay on the floor and i had enought room to get a spanner and wrench on it

£1 for the 2, you may need to use small stilsons plubming spanner and a open ring spanner with the wheel on access i tgight to get a socket on a rachet up there, just pull until your arm start to ache thats what i did solved the problem,

I will take it to the mechanic next door to work and get him to do the work. I can tighten a few bolts but want it doing right as I love ' my b***h ' lol. tried to explain it to him the other day and his words were get your wallet out !!!. will go to him and explain its the top fixiting to the suspension and get him to put it right... really do appreciate all the help as I was expecting the worst and having to get a new axle happy person right now

those should be flange nuts.
the top one is M12 bolt so you need 95ft lb or 70 Nm torque according to the service guide.
do not guess the torque require as i have seen serious accident happened before because of that

I really don't have a clue when it comes to mechanics. last thing I want is for it not to be done right and it collapses on a motorway

#15: Re: rear suspension top fixing Author: Dan-, Location: BiggleswadePosted: Sun Nov 25, 2012 1:29 pm ---- the only problem i found when i fitted my avo rear shock was that the torque specified as you say 70nm but when i tightened mine to that they were lose still and knocked so had to torque them down to 85nm and use thread lock as peugeot call them lock nuts but they are just nuts with a flange! i just got fed up in the end of the knock so thread lock was the answer, no problems after that

Think I've found the problem though... A plastic cover in the wheel arch ( * feel stupid face * lol ) would you think drilling in to the arch and screw it down would be ok or should I get someone to do it properly
