#2: Re: 180 or 140 Author: NorthantsBen, Location: Raunds, NorthamptonshirePosted: Tue Nov 27, 2012 8:18 am ---- why would you pick 140 over 180 unless it was because you simply couldn't afford it
#3: Re: 180 or 140 Author: L5_UKS, Location: West MidlandsPosted: Tue Nov 27, 2012 8:54 am ---- The 180 is a lot better equipped than the 140. So 180 is a clear winner. Unless you wanted to do a lot of engine work then I'd recommend the 140
#4: Re: 180 or 140 Author: JamieM, Posted: Tue Nov 27, 2012 9:04 am ---- Well that's a stupid question if there ever was one...
I would go for the 40 bhp less model loosing out on the suspension revisions and a few less luxuries... because it's got more tuning potential to get it up to 180 stock figures ^^.

20bhp less
But yeah, stupid question really.
#6: Re: 180 or 140 Author: Deano, Posted: Tue Nov 27, 2012 9:28 am ---- Ye the 180 does 140 mph and the 140 does 130 mph so for 10 mph diff it not that much it was only a poll anyway

Assuming all 138's make their stock figures
20 bhp is still 20 bhp haha
#10: Re: 180 or 140 Author: MattyP, Location: PlymouthPosted: Tue Nov 27, 2012 10:01 am ---- Definitely recommend the 180 over the 140, i've just upgraded from the 140 to the 180 and it is far superior than the 140 and I seriously don't regret buying the 180

#12: Re: 180 or 140 Author: Edward, Location: In the garagePosted: Tue Nov 27, 2012 10:11 am ---- I've only got a 138. I must be a peasant. The 180 wasn't out when I got mine.
This was more true when the cars were newer but if you planned serious modification work then it didnt make sense to pay a premium for a newer 180 when all the changes that made the 180 different to the 138 would be put in the bin.

drove both when i upgraded from my 1.4 and the 180 seemed like a far superior car so i paid the extra and bought the 180. now that there is virtually no price difference between the 140 and 180 i would go for the 180 for definate

Would also want curtain airbags.
Anyway there is no chance of me buying myself another 206 when I need a replacement car, there just nasty / noisy / uncomfortable / heavy to drive & far to old fashioned these days.

Fair enough, I prefer without as it means it runs the cable throttle not the electronic one.

I've driven plenty of cars with electronic throttles over the years, they don't really bother me these days.
When you drive something newer then get back in a 206 it just opens your eyes to how out of date the 206 really is.
#27: Re: 180 or 140 Author: Dan-, Location: BiggleswadePosted: Tue Nov 27, 2012 1:09 pm ---- 180 it has everything you need to make a nice looking 206! if you buy the 137/138 you will be on the hunt for some 180 alloys/ interior, speedo surround, just on motorway the 180 revs sit quite high, cant remember what my 137 used to sit at 70 but i dont think it was nowhere near as high
Maby you wont but the majority do.

the electronic throttle was fine in mine, didnt delay the response, what i drive now has a cable and takes about 10 seconds before it moves! damn turbo lag

#44: Re: 180 or 140 Author: crocdino, Location: LeedsPosted: Tue Dec 18, 2012 2:17 pm ---- Facelift 138 with ESP! (like ours) any day of the week! IMO the 180 looks terrible, very chavvy, horrible wheels, tacky spoiler, crap exhaust etc etc.. I like the seats though.
Ours is getting on now but it still looks good and fresh.. It's noisy though and the steering is pretty heavy. I enjoy driving it a lot though.. that's after driving my 335d most days too.
