#1: Car tool kit Author: Tolkienfan001, Location: SpaldingPosted: Fri Nov 30, 2012 11:18 pm ---- Can anyone help me where is the best place with the best price for a starter tool kit for car maintenance. One that includes ratchet set, spanners, torque bits, and the tool for removing spark plugs?
Thanks

#5: Re: Car tool kit Author: Tolkienfan001, Location: SpaldingPosted: Sat Dec 01, 2012 2:56 am ---- Looking to spend £50-£60 maybe.
#6: Re: Car tool kit Author: visfix, Posted: Sat Dec 01, 2012 2:58 am ---- That Snap-On set is a good price for what you are getting.
Think of tools as an investment, whereby if you spend a bit more, they will last you a lifetime.
Also, and this is from personal experience, don't lend them to anybody!

I got a tool roll from Machine Mart, a set of Halfords Professional screwdrivers for £10 (on offer), a decent little socket set and a pair of decent pliers.

#10: Re: Car tool kit Author: MrBSI, Location: What's it to you? ? ?Posted: Sat Dec 01, 2012 4:17 am ---- After the p**s poor customer service I got from Halfords last week getting a broken professional tool replaced ( 2.5mm allen key ) I've stopped buying Halfords tools now.
Halford's loss is the Snap On man's gain
#11: Re: Car tool kit Author: macca1411, Location: Westhoughton, LancashirePosted: Sat Dec 01, 2012 5:13 am ---- ECP had an offer on tools the other day. Don't know if it's still an active offer.
#12: Re: Car tool kit Author: MrBSI, Location: What's it to you? ? ?Posted: Sat Dec 01, 2012 5:17 am ---- I've always recommended Halford's professional kit in the past BUT if they cant honour there own lifetime warranty I just wont buy / recommended there tool again.

So u might have to swallow it and see halfords...or get a relative to help u and get the quality machine mart one at £310inc.vat see site...
