#1: Key stuck in the ignition :( Author: ashleygilbert92, Location: BristolPosted: Tue Dec 04, 2012 4:03 pm ---- Can anyone help? The other night I pulled up on my drive and as usual went to turn off my engine but the key wouldn't turn, it was literally jammed solid. I had to stall my car to turn it off and I disconnected the battery as all the electrics stayed on, I managed to pull the key out (with a struggle) and slightly bending the key but now the key doesn't slide into tho ignition smoothly and doesn't turn the car on or lock the doors manually, is this simply a case of getting a new ignition barrel and key? Then swapping the chip from my old key to my new key? Would that work?

Also did you fit the barrel as I had the exact same problem. When I fitted the new barrel I had the thick red and yellow wires the wrong way round in the plug in the fusebox and mine wouldn't fire either.
