#4: Re: Lost keys Author: Tolkienfan001, Location: SpaldingPosted: Mon Dec 17, 2012 2:31 am ---- While we are on the subject I only have one key. I have the card with the code. How much would the dealer charge for a new key with remote central locking etc?

#7: Re: Lost keys Author: Deano, Posted: Mon Dec 17, 2012 3:07 am ---- Tolkinfan it's probaly cheaper to get key cover on your insurance that's what I might do because I only got one key for my gti. Aswell
#8: Re: Lost keys Author: Deano, Posted: Mon Dec 17, 2012 3:10 am ---- Surely must be able to get all them parts from scrap yard just need to know if that's all I need and can they be off any year car ? Then I can.ring round for price
#9: Re: Lost keys Author: macca1411, Location: Westhoughton, LancashirePosted: Mon Dec 17, 2012 4:00 am ---- Just go to a good autolocksmith and ask them for a new key. They can clone the immo chip and program the central locking.
Just as a comparison, Peugeot will charge £90 just for the fob and cut blade. It will then need pairing with the car which could be another £60-£70

You won't need a boot lock as it's controlled by the central locking. You will need the petrol cap though. Make sure the donor BSI has the same features (or more) than the original. No point getting one from a car with no fogs and no auto lights if your car has them as they won't function and the option may not be able to be activated in the BSI.
You will also need the chassis number of the donor car for future use. If you ever need a second remote, the dealer will be able to get the codes required.
Not 100% but I think the ECU part numbers will have to match. No point sticking an ECU on a TU1 that is set up for a TU5 engine.
