#1: Pendulum noise when i brake Author: sophiebrown47, Posted: Tue Jan 01, 2013 12:59 pm ---- Hi I have a 2005 Peugeot 206 verve. I recently brought it but now when I brake it sound and feels like something I swinging under my feet (on the drivers side). It also cuts out if I try to take off slowly without revving it loads. I know nothing about cars at all and would much appreciate if someone would be kind enough to inform me of what might be going on in the hood or under the car?
#2: Re: Pendulum noise when i brake Author: 20Drift, Posted: Tue Jan 01, 2013 1:08 pm ---- It is probably cutting out because you are stalling it. Try adding some more revs. The lowest I can get it to go without stalling is around 1200. At what RPM does it cut?
#3: Re: Pendulum noise when i brake Author: Steve206, Location: UKPosted: Tue Jan 01, 2013 1:57 pm ---- If you have to rev a lot, the clutch might be slipping. Does the brake pedal 'pump' or vibrate?
#4: Re: Pendulum noise when i brake Author: sophiebrown47, Posted: Tue Jan 01, 2013 4:06 pm ---- it has to get to about 3000 revs before it will moved and it doesn't cut out like its stalling it shuts down slowly like the lights dim and stuff I have to take my foot off the gas completely and rev it again. And the brake pedal feels fine inside the car, but when I brake its like a pendulum start swinging underneath the car the strange thing is you can hear it from inside the car but not from outside the car ????
#5: Re: Pendulum noise when i brake Author: Steve206, Location: UKPosted: Tue Jan 01, 2013 4:15 pm ---- Clutch has definetly started to slip. Not sure on brakes
#6: Re: Pendulum noise when i brake Author: sophiebrown47, Posted: Tue Jan 01, 2013 5:09 pm ---- how long do I have before the clutch goes roughly???
#7: Re: Pendulum noise when i brake Author: Atomicmachine, Posted: Tue Jan 01, 2013 9:19 pm ---- there are people here that have no idea what are talking about. that feeling below your feet is 100% sure the bushing in the bar. check with a torch how they are
#8: Re: Pendulum noise when i brake Author: Atomicmachine, Posted: Tue Jan 01, 2013 9:23 pm ---- the engine supports also create that feeling but you feel more in the front and not below
#9: Re: Pendulum noise when i brake Author: sophiebrown47, Posted: Wed Jan 02, 2013 3:11 am ---- what's the bushing in the bar and what does it normally look like do you know a website where I could see a picture to know what I am looking for. I'm really sorry I am absolutely clueless about cars ???

Whats that got to do with an engine stalling at low revs?

To be honest your descriptions need far more detail. Find a knowledgeable mate, or mates mate, and let them have a test drive.
Failing that take it to a local garage and ask for a diagnosis, that does not need a commitment from you to let them repair it and they may even diagnose it for free and give an estimate for the repair.
These cars are easy to work on so it doesn't have to be a Peugeot specialist.
