When i put them back in i just put a bit of gt 85 on the moving bits, been fine since, had them on and off a few times.
Oh and the bolt, both mine were like this, mole grip them on the square base, lots of wd or whatever you prefer to use on the nut. Go for it, one they're off clean the threads up and copper grease for assembly.
