What I have noticed, if it happens to go off cylinder or run lumpy, if i turn off or restart car it goes away(sometimes). Like it took me five times to turn of and on this morning to get it to go right. When it firsts starts it is on all four cylinders, but then couple mins later it goes off. Drove 10 mile to work and did not miss a beat, but sometimes i could drive 1 mile and off it goes again.
Yesterday i went for long drive 30 or 40 mile and drive went great. Turned off and went to shop and when restarted it drove like a bag of crap the last mile home, white smoke flying out the exhaust.

Garage says it looks like the fuel injector pump.
Suppose its a process of elimination. Picking pump up tomorrow from breakers.
It probadly due a timing belt as well. No record when belt was last changed
#23: Re: 206 1.9 Diesel running lumpy Author: apache1311, Posted: Thu Jan 17, 2013 8:25 am ---- The plot thickens........
I did not realise this, but the immobiliser on my car has been bypassed.
Could this have anything to do with it. The security plate has been removed and a wire is connected directly to the solenoid. Car starts and turns off from the key and no warning lights on dashboard.
Either someone has done this to try and fix the problem and they have replaced the pump, or something else happened to the original immobiliser and someone has just bypassed.
Got replacement pump today from breakers
Thoughts please

So yesterday i changed the diesel fuel injector pump and finally the issue is GONE.
The car is evening starting on the first turn of the key. Before i changed the pump i had to turn over a few times to get started.
Cheers guys for all the help and advice.
It was interesting changing the pump, i have never done one before.
Learn something new every day.
Thanks
