Hey guys,

Earlier i read that Obsidian black (EXL) and Onyx black (EXY) are the same colour, could anyone confirm this for me because I'm struggling to find parts in Obsidian and I havnt seen many black peugeots around to compare my car and theirs haha.
I also read that the year could make a difference, so I'm trying to find parts for a 53 plate 1.1 (first car) if that's of any help! Smile

Thanks for any replies,

Paddy!

EXY is non-metallic Onyx black (phase 1)
EXL is metallic Onyx black (phase 2)

Noir Obsidien is EXL in a spray can (the French name for metallic Onyx black)

Your car (53 plate) is EXL (metallic) - phase 2

Ahh cheers mate! Very Happy
So if I was to buy a body part from a Onyx Black GTI it wouldn't stand out on my car? Obviously as long as it was a phase 2 GTI haha.

Thanks a lot!

Paddy!

What part is it? It wouldn't but the rest of car will have metallic sparkles in the paint, onyx black is just a flat gloss so if it's a door or something big you could tell.

It could be any parts, I'm looking for both front wings and a spoiler! I've found them in EXL but a little expensive so was hoping I could maybe buy in onyx black, which seems more common Confused

Spoiler would be okay in EXY, but the wings would look wrong.
My sideskirts were EXL on my EXY GTi (2002), and looked quite good (mainly because EXL looks 'dusty' on an EXY car).
Any '53-plate onwards black 206 will be EXL, so just keep your eyes open at the scrappies/on ebay/on here! Smile

Cheers man!

I'm seriously keeping an eye out, it seems a rare colour up north! I'm going to the scrappiest very week and checking on eBay most days, problem is because they know its not common, they charge more!
