#1: Alarm ultrasonic sensors enabling Author: Daeva, Location: Athens, GreecePosted: Mon Jan 07, 2013 4:12 pm ---- My 206 has a factory alarm fitted, as confirmed by sevice box.
However, it has no square button by the handbreak.
Is there a way to enable / disable the ultrasonic sensors from the keyfob?
I have the newer style keyfob with no LED ans two buttons, one for lock, one for unlock.
I think they must have beeb inavertedly disabled and now I want to enable them again.
Doors bonet and tail gate all work fine.
Thank you.

#3: Re: Alarm ultrasonic sensors enabling Author: cartoonhead, Location: North ManchesterPosted: Mon Jan 07, 2013 4:38 pm ---- pull the cover off where the button should be near the hand break and see if the wire is there for the ultrasonic button

There isn't one.

Yes, but I'm not allowed to use it normaly.
Seriously though, the sensors were working fine a few months ago.
I seem to recall there was a way of doing it by the keyfob and maybe that's what happened.
No trouble codes btw.

Not sure if they can be enabled/disabled using the remote. Never heard of that one.
Possible that they can be enabled using PP, but you'd want to know how they became disabled in the first place.
#7: Re: Alarm ultrasonic sensors enabling Author: Steve206, Location: UKPosted: Tue Jan 08, 2013 9:20 am ---- Have you got the sensors on the front pillars? I don't know why you wouldn't have the button if you have.
#8: Re: Alarm ultrasonic sensors enabling Author: bezford, Location: darlingtonPosted: Tue Jan 08, 2013 3:39 pm ---- u could try some different combos on the fob...hold down for ten then open doors then hold for ten seconds again...etc.etc.
#9: Re: Alarm ultrasonic sensors enabling Author: V9977, Location: Athens, GreecePosted: Tue Jan 22, 2013 8:03 am ---- OK.
The alarm module was underneath the foot-rest on the LHS and was dis-lodged by all the troding.
Ultrasonic connector was unplugged.
'Have now re-located and secured the module at a better more accesible place near the BSI, pluged the connector in and now they work.
I also found a small 'dinky' type button on the loom buried in there which is for disabling the sensors.
For some reason they never fitted the handbrake alarm button and just left that in there hanging
(Even though alarm is factory fitted as confirmed by SB and wiring loom etc).
So now we are on the lookout for that panel (black) and button to add to the setup.

@ LeeThr: Yes, if it's black it will fit mine, if it's grey we need it for the other car. Does it include the square button and how much do you want for it?
@Steve 206: no, one previous lady owner.
#13: Re: Alarm ultrasonic sensors enabling Author: LeeThr, Location: North West WalesPosted: Wed Jan 23, 2013 6:33 am ---- Ill double check the colour, but it will include the button, the surround and the blank, how does £5 + postage sound?
#14: Re: Alarm ultrasonic sensors enabling Author: Steve206, Location: UKPosted: Wed Jan 23, 2013 8:33 am ---- I was thinking about this. Do the sensors In the pillars work? I'm wondering if that sensor has been disconnected at some time because of a fault. The usual alarm going off all the time springs to mind. I would think they work without the button, just cant see a reason for it to have been swapped for a blank and disconnected.

There was no blank swaped or anything.
They always used to work until recently when the small brown connector got un-pluged because the module got loose and was being troden-on being underneath the clutch-foot-rest on the LHS.
It's a LHD vehicle so alarm module location must be specific to this.

Read the previous posts in the thread, it's all in there.
#18: Re: Alarm ultrasonic sensors enabling Author: Steve206, Location: UKPosted: Wed Jan 23, 2013 10:44 am ---- I was wondering if you had the blanking plastic or nothing at all! I understand now though. Should be working properly before long though. Can't say I've ever used mine though, maybe in the summer if I leave a window open slightly, which I suppose you might more often!
