Alright guys,

What are your thought on a set of white saxo wheels on a Obsidian Black 206? At the minute it's standard height but is going to be lowere in the next year! Debating buying the alloys and waiting until it's lowered because I dunno how they'd look at standard height :/

Thanks for any replies,

Paddy!

Imho, Saxo wheels are far too small to look good on a 206.
I had 15's on my 206 when I bought it and they looked tiny, couldn't wait to get some 17's on there.

15" alloys look fine if the rest of the car suits it.

That's what I'm hoping, it's a black car, white wheels could be a bit much but f they are I'm just gonna plastidip them, a mate do it to his mini wheels and they look awesome!

will look nice if the car is lowered. 15" wheels = massive arch gap and with the white wheels it could look a bit tacky. Where you gunna buy your plastidip from?

Yeah that's what I thought, the wheels are nice, but the arch gap could be a bit much, and along side the colour it could look quite chavvy, so they'll probably end up plasti dipped! I dunno really, is it you with the plasti dipping business mate?

I never thought white wheels looked right on a black car, it works the otherway around

I put my Nimrods on before I lowered mine, it looked a bit silly with nice wheels and big arch gap

I'd save up and lower it first

his car is 1.1,so it can't handle more than 15"

Yeah I have got a website selling cans at the moment but looking to sell liquid dip in tins soon. If youre interested in cans I could sort you out a discount code. PM me

So is mine, I reckon it could probably have 16s with the right tyres on haha.

This is a slight misconception in my opinion, the radius of the alloy does not matter so long as the overall rolling radius remains the same as standard. It's the additional weight that puts strain on transmission which makes people think it's because of the alloy size. But you could fit 17" lightweight alloys that weigh the same as normal 14/15" alloys, with 205/40r17 tyres and it would be fine.

Yeah, am I right in saying that basically if the wheel and tyre diameter is the same size as the originals it will work? Obviously as long as the wheels aren't too wide for the arch.
So me having 175/65-14 and changing them to 185/55/15s will work fine?

Should do...or even maybe 185/45/16 might work as its still the same outer circumfrence???

They'd work alright, would have -1.7% difference, so your speedo would run lower than it actually is I think.
