Hi bud is the pedal a lot lower now since the clutch was changed,?
as my girls car is high and just had new clutch fitted, also the cable adjuster had gone so had the cable replaced to,1.4. £170 for clutch fitted and think £80 fitted for cable.cheers olly

Yes it's lower now, feels like a normal car now. Before it was slipping when accelerating aswell but no problem now. £180 for clutch replacement, good price! Smile

Hi going to ring the garage that fitted it as it seems odd that it's so high,it's on last bite of the pedal .Can anything else cause the pedal to be so high? cheers

If you have had new clutch then it should be lower, maybe the cable is slack and auto adjuster not working correctly? :S

Booked it back in for this week for them to check it out. New cable was fitted,I'm wondering if just cable was changed as it was not adjusting and could of been causing it to slip? Even tho we paid for both to be changed.
The pedal is the same before the clutch was changed.

Took the car back and they told me they adjusted the pedal lower, can't say i noticed any difference to be honest .I thought the cable clutch was auto adjust and this was not possible?,but what do i know...

I think they are auto adjust, like a ratchet system. Think they trying to fob you off tbh mate. This is why I don't really trust garages and try to do as much as possible myself :/

Yeah same here bud,I just did full service myself this week. It's ok because they have the car back every so many miles on the clock to check everything with the clutch, and I will mention auto adjust to him and see what he says. Olly

You can try to force it to adjust.

Press the pedal to the floor then slip your foot sideways off the pedal so that the pedal flies back towards you - get your leg out of the way because it will hurt if it hits you in the shin. That is sometimes enough to force the autoadjust to do its job.

Only issue with this is that a new cable with a new clutch definitely should NOT need this.
