Check the idle control valve, take it out spray with some brake/parts cleaner. See if it still cuts out, if so take it along to a local garage and get them to scan it with a diagnostic machine and see if they can find anything to point you in the right direction.

The revs fluctuating is normal and down to the power steering.

Cheers Rich,i had it on the diagnostic during the week as it was only firing on 3,indicating number 4 injector faulty, this has been changed and is running fine,it showed no other faults

Ah fair enough, try cleaning the idle control valve first then, also does it do it all the time when slowing or once every now and again.

Sounds very much like idle air control circuit steeper motor sticking.

The valve control the amount of air at idle.

When you turn a corner the power steering pump puts a load on the engine. That load will cause the revs to drop.

The ECU will see the revs start to drop and control the steeper motor to give slightly more air to compensate for that and idle should be constant regardless of turning the steering wheel.

The throttle body and ICV get coated in carbon and the valve sticks. You can clean them and it is usually successful.
