Glow Plugs?

hey all iv got a 206 1.9d and when i go to start it first thing takes a little while to get going sounds like its miss fireing for a couple of secounds then picks up to normal idle white smoke comes out for around a min or two if you put it on fast idle then clears up could i be right in thinking this is the glow plugs the cars been sat there for the lasy 6 months but i keep her started at least three times a week till her mot and she does the same thing each time any ideas guys

also if it is the glow plugs that need changing how do you get to them seems like the induction runs right over the top of them

ps im not gonna lie she has a wee bit of the red stuff in her lol sounds grim lol

but yeah all thoughts welcome

Sounds like air in the pipes. Give the system a bleed and see if it improves before spending money.
