#1: Number plate fixing Author: Taff!, Location: Havant nr PortsmouthPosted: Fri Jan 25, 2013 10:45 am ---- Got a third world problem with my number plate in that it peels off as it's using the stick on pads. It's probably because it's in a surround but how do you guys fix yours to the car? I'm tempted to drill and use self tappers but don't really fancy drilling the boot. What have you done? Only used halfords sticky pads so perhaps they are shoddy

Use some Hammerite or other metal protection coating to stop rust on the holes you drill in to the metal work.

I thought about painting but then thought the self tappers would probably etch that off anyway. Just found a cheap set in Halfords so will run with that I reckon. Thank you

Me too.
Reason being Greek 'licence' plates are goverment issued only and if they go walkies your shafted basicaly.
