#1: Gearbox change Author: Wesser, Posted: Sat Jan 26, 2013 3:59 pm ---- I have got a peugeot 206 1.1 1998 which the gearbox has gone in would anyone be able to tell me if the gearbox from a 1999 Roland Garros would fit it?
#2: Re: Gearbox change Author: Sadako, Posted: Sat Jan 26, 2013 4:51 pm ---- be ok as long as the rg is also a tu 8v so will have same ma type box
#3: Re: Gearbox change Author: Edward, Location: In the garagePosted: Sat Jan 26, 2013 5:12 pm ---- I imagine the RG will have different ratios because it's a 1.6. Shouldnt be too different though.
#4: Re: Gearbox change Author: Wesser, Posted: Sun Jan 27, 2013 4:11 am ---- Okay cheers will the different gear ratios make much difference?
#5: Re: Gearbox change Author: Edward, Location: In the garagePosted: Sun Jan 27, 2013 5:45 am ---- Doubt it will be significantly different.
#6: Re: Gearbox change Author: Wesser, Posted: Sun Jan 27, 2013 6:25 am ---- Will the drive shafts still fit or will they be different?
#7: Re: Gearbox change Author: Addaz, Location: SuffolkPosted: Sun Jan 27, 2013 7:04 am ---- If i remember correctly, the 1.6 ones at the diff input are slightly shorter so 1.4/1.1 ones slightly leak
#8: Re: Gearbox change Author: Wesser, Posted: Sun Jan 27, 2013 7:21 am ---- could i just swap the 1.1 ones with the 1.6 then?
#9: Re: Gearbox change Author: Addaz, Location: SuffolkPosted: Sun Jan 27, 2013 7:40 am ---- Yes, the 1.6 will fit your car but if you fitted the 1.1 shafts into the 1.6 gearbox they would not fully sit in/mate and leak ever so slightly.
When you get the box just compared the ends which enter the box and you will see what i mean
#10: Re: Gearbox change Author: Wesser, Posted: Sun Jan 27, 2013 12:30 pm ---- So if I just change the shafts and box everything will be fine?
