cheap Fullrun tyres, not my choice as they were on the car when i brought it but they have loads of tred left. It handles great in the dry. so you think it could be the tyres? I know cheap tyres do affect the handling on a car but i didnt expect this much understeer.
#4: Re: Getting understeer Author: Seabook, Posted: Sat Feb 02, 2013 4:34 am ---- i never expect anything from cheap tyre
#5: Re: Getting understeer Author: meady, Location: basingstokePosted: Sat Feb 02, 2013 4:35 am ---- It could be a big factor as I have heard cheap tyres can be absolutely useless in the wet. I'm sure someone else will have someone help on here

#8: Re: Getting understeer Author: broadblaster, Location: south coastPosted: Sat Feb 02, 2013 4:43 am ---- my 180's have cheapish rubber on them and yeah mine do the same but tbh it don't really bother me that much because if its that wet i'm not gonna be pushing it to the limit anyway.
#9: Re: Getting understeer Author: Edward, Location: In the garagePosted: Sat Feb 02, 2013 5:19 am ---- Even cheap tyres will let the car corner at decent speeds...you're probably expecting too much from the car or you're just going too fast.

Your trying to drive the car beyond it's limits. Ease off the accelerator in wet conditions and approach corners at the correct speed and you will find that the understeer disappears.
#11: Re: Getting understeer Author: Dan-, Location: BiggleswadePosted: Sat Feb 02, 2013 6:23 am ---- i experienced this on my 180 it was running advents or somethings and that let go very easy! i fitted parada specs 2 and they were amazing even on track i found them excellent although i did find the back end kept trying to come round on fast corners but that was me letting of the throttle half way round

Im no way trying to drive the car beyond its limits,it happens at slow speeds most of the time when turning in to a roundabout or corner. My previous cars, civic type R,clio 172 never sufferd with understeer. So its must be the cheap tyres i have on im thinking.

#17: Re: Getting understeer Author: kandlbarrett, Location: SwindonPosted: Sat Feb 02, 2013 2:54 pm ---- Back to the OP get full 4 wheel alignment done. Don't bother with cheap 2 wheel done - go somewhere with the more expensive equipment and have a full 4 wheel alignment done

is there no point on the rears? as there is no adjustment only when the bearings fail you end up with some camber? i know where i go they put the boards on all 4 wheels but only looked at the front
#19: Re: Getting understeer Author: kandlbarrett, Location: SwindonPosted: Sat Feb 02, 2013 7:49 pm ---- Actually re-reading your first post it is either you have suddenly got a soft front tyres or you are using excess throttle or you really do have poor wet weather tyres.
You state it is fine in the dry but poor in the wet so it probably isn't a suspension, alignment or set up issue but one of the above.
I guess it could be alignment that is highlighted in the wet but I wouldn't be so confident diagnosing that.

New tyres allround and a proper alignment i think,i will let you know the results, cheers for the advise guys
#21: Re: Getting understeer Author: kandlbarrett, Location: SwindonPosted: Tue Feb 05, 2013 1:40 pm ---- dan: four wheel alignment is better because more sensitive equipment is used. Additionally the four wheel stuff also measures where the rear is pointing (it won't be where Peugeot intended - it almost never is) and that will be taken into account when setting up the front.
You can do this with two wheel kit but most operators wouldn't know how or haven't done it for so long they have now forgotten.
#22: Re: Getting understeer Author: Wayneone, Location: Milton keynesPosted: Fri Feb 08, 2013 4:33 pm ---- Uniroyals are very good wet weather tyres!
#23: Re: Getting understeer Author: BigTony, Location: castle vale birminghamPosted: Tue Mar 19, 2013 7:54 am ---- Dont buy new tyres, spend the cash on drifting lessons instead. Its a lot more fun!
