Central Locking
-> 206 Problems

Hi Guys.

Im having an issue with my central locking. I have a Peugeot 206 LX.

All was working fine until yesterday evening. I simply tried to lock the door but the pins return up, usually they do this if something is jamming the door open. Checked all the doors but nothing strange stuck out.

The way i have managed to the lock the car is putting the key inside the door and holding it in the locked position this keeps the pin down i can then use the key to lock the passanger door.

Anyone have any advice to fix this or any tips?

Thanks

one of your doors is saying it is open
try reclosing all the doors!

the easyest way to diagnose this would be through plugging into a diagnotic machine
has anyone local to you got Peugeot planet diag system?

this will tell you which door is at fault

second option
which i have used for the rear doors only
is to unplug the door lock inside the door,
then try to lock it with the RCL fob
if it locks the other 3 without bouncing the locks that door switch is faulty in this door

quick tip
***rears only***
once finding the faulty lock cut wire number 1 in the plug and insulat the ends
plug the unit back in now the door should lock with the RCL fob

the bsi will think the door is closed all the time Wink

i only say this for the rears only as i have not looked at the wiring pinouts for the fronts
as i found my fault before getting to them

Sounds like you need a new door locking solenoid/actuator on one of the doors.

For the boot, an easy way to test if its working or not is to listen if you hear it bounce. It if does, it might mean that the system that retains it to the boot might have lost its holding screw. Mine did that and it was a pita cause I needed to go through the back seats to get to unlock it manually.
