#1: Diesel tap? Author: sicskate, Location: Margate, KentPosted: Thu Feb 07, 2013 2:59 pm ---- This is regarding my 307 1.4hdi
I have noticed a slight tapping when accelerating.
It goes away when the engine has warmed up, but it also goes when it hits 3000rpm.
I've read a fair bit about this, but never a definitive answer as most usually never report back.
So I'm led to believe it could be either an injector sill, or the crank pully?
Does anyone have an exploded diagram of the injectors location (I'm assuming the rear on the engine).
Also, how can I test the crank pully?
Many thanks
Ben

#4: Re: Diesel tap? Author: TelaKeppi, Location: FinlandPosted: Fri Feb 08, 2013 7:20 am ---- By replacing all the lifters.

I'm hoping to do my cam belt in the summer, maybe ill tackle them then.
Can it cause any damage leaving it for now?
I haven't noticed the car change in anyway at all.

I did cambelt, waterpump and all the bits and bobs. Also while I was at it, serviced the turbo, cleaned all the carbon build up, blocked egr pipe, replaced glow plugs and injector seals. It took a long weekend.
