replacing heater blower wiring loom harness
-> 206 Problems

#1: replacing heater blower wiring loom harness Author: andyn1983 PostPosted: Fri Feb 08, 2013 5:25 pm

The heater blower in our 206 has stopped working, on inspection of the heater blower resistor it has burnt out one of the pins and also burnt the connector on the wiring harness.

I have a replacement resistor and harness but I cannot see how to easilly replace the harness without dismantling the whole dash.

So far I've disconnected the blower fan connection, resistor connection, fuse box connections and the connections to the dials on the centre dash. But how do i take the rest of the wiring out, and more importantly feed the new wiring harness into the air ducting to connect back to the blower fan and resistor.

Can anyone give some suggestions on how to go about completing this task please as its not covered at all in the Haynes manual.

Thanks.
Andy

What I would suggest is, if you have a soldering iron, a little bit of solder and some side cutters, cut off the resistor connecter about an inch from the back of the connecter up the wiring loom, strip back some of the rubber insulating material on the parts you wish to solder together, and twist both of the wire connections together, and solder them. Easiest way to do it without taking the whole of the dash out mate.
