I have a problem when i am on the highway my car starts to vibrate around 60-70mph. I had the wheels balanced the other day and the mechanic said that they were really bad and didn't know how i'd kept it on the road. it still does it now although it drives much better, anyone know what this could be caused by?

It could be possible that one of the new wheel weights have fallen off again, or it could be the fact that one of your alloys is bent.

Is the vibration coming through the steering or through the car?

Could be an number of things from suspension or steering parts worn, twisted tyre, driveshafts, warped brake discs, or even different tyres on the same axle.

Did you have all 4 ballanced?

Is the vibration felt through the steering or through your a**e - i.e. whole car is vibrating.

It may be worth moving front wheels to rear and seeing if the vibration moves.

If tyres are badly out of balance for a long time you can get weird tyre tread wear pattern enough for the vibration to continue and only new tyres fix it. It is unusual but does happen.

Could be drive shaft.
